WISH Academy – With the days getting longer and the weather getting warmer, the spirit of spring sports is in the air. This year, the baseball, boy’s volleyball, and swimming teams have a full slate of games and are setting their sights on greatness. Finally, after months of conditioning and practice, the athletes are prepared to dominate with the sole intention of making this season one to remember. Here’s a comprehensive look at what to expect from each team this spring. The baseball team comes into the season eager, motivated, and desperate to produce results to match. The team has been improving its batting, fielding, and game plan with a good number of returning players and new faces. Oliver, the team catcher, says, “The team is going to turn things around and strive to win.” They have had promising showings in the early scrimmages, and the team is looking to carry over that performance when the season starts officially.

The season opener is a home game against Animo Venice on March 24th. This first game will be important as the first of many that the team plans to win. The team will have a short break and then face Animo Venice again, this time on the road, on April 2 at 3:00 PM. The team will have to learn and focus quickly to get a win when playing away from home. On April 4, the squad will return home to face SHCA at 3:00 PM in what could be a pivotal game for their early-season momentum. A few days later, they’ll host Locke on April 8 at 3:pm, a match that will test their will and determination. Mid-April is a busy time with spring break, and the team is on the road at Animo Robinson on April 14 at 3:00 pm. The last game of the month is an away game against SHCA on April 28 at 3:00 pm, which may be a decisive game for the playoffs. The last regular season game is home against Animo Robinson on May 7 at 3:00 pm, and the team wants to leave the season on a positive note playing in front of the home fans.

The boys’ volleyball team is set for a competitive season, with a mix of experienced players and promising newcomers. After working on their communication, blocking, and serve reception during the offseason, the team feels confident about their chances to make a deep run this year. They’ll open their campaign at home against APBHS on March 24. The home opener will be a key test of how well the team has gelled. On March 31, they’ll travel to face Animo Venice at 4:30 PM in a tough early-season road test. April will continue, starting with an away game at LALA on April 4 at 3:30 PM. Just a few days later, they’ll head to Animo Watts for a prime-time matchup on April 7 at 5:30 PM. The regular season will wrap up with a rematch at APBHS on April 9 at 4:00 PM, where the team hopes to showcase their growth and finish strong heading into potential postseason play.
Meanwhile, the swim team is hitting the pool with a focus on improving individual times and relay performances. The swimmers have been working hard on starts, turns, and stroke technique, and coaches are optimistic that this season could bring several personal bests and possibly some podium finishes at major meets.
With a busy spring ahead, each team is poised to make a statement. The baseball and boy’s volleyball teams will need to stay sharp through their grueling schedules, while the swim teams aim to make waves with their performances. Wish students are encouraged to come out and support the athletes, as home-field games and school energy can make all the difference. This spring promises to be packed with excitement, determination, and unforgettable moments don’t miss out!
